An experience microbiologist, Nafdac interim

I am a graduate with strong communication and organizational skills gained through working in different organisations and knowledge acquired whilst studying in the university. My degree in microbiology consisted the study of the biology of microscopic organisms - viruses, bacteria, algae, fungi, slime molds, and protozoa. The methods used to study and manipulate these minute and mostly unicellular organisms differing from those used in most other biological investigations. I feel I have learned more than just the theory behind microbiology but also many fundamental skills for my career and life.

As a graduate I have other qualities to bring to workplaces such as good teamwork, organizational skills, efficiency, I am very meticulous, I show pride in all the work I do, I work well under pressure, I love the challenge and the opportunity to learn new skills and work with new technologies. I possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, complete tasks and can relate to a wide range of people. All these skills have been enhanced during all the work experiences I have gained over the years.

I am applying for the role of microbiologist within the the food industry. This desire to work in food company has been present in my life for a number of reasons. In my previous job roles I have been able to obtain personal, interpersonal, communication and analytical skills. I have been able to enhance my multi-tasking skills in small and large teams. As this job requires strong interpersonal skills, my experience as a customer care executive require personality and people’s skills to address and deal with people from all walks of life and abilities. As this is a demanding and busy role, I believe it is important to have the skill set to rise above the challenge to complete tasks as an individual and a team. Working in microbiologist has always been a passion of mine and I know the role in which food plays in the daily lives of people. I like working with people to complete tasks and ensure customers and staff are happy while on shift.

I can make a difference to people’s lives as I am a quick learner and adapt very well in situations. This is demonstrated in situations where I have learned to be patient when faced with challenging behaviours. I am a team player hence support my colleagues, so delivery of care services is not affected. I have adequate knowledge in mobility aids, health and safety, use of PPE and supporting those in crisis.
