I believe that the elderly are an important and valuable generation full of wisdom and knowledge and that they need to be cared for and protected. This enables me to want to offer my assistance to the elderly when they are vulnerable so they can live as independently as they can and the idea of being able to care for them with so much warmth, empathy and compassion, still being treated as they matter gives me comfort. I was fortunate as I was younger to see my mother taking care of my grandmother, though she was frail in her 90s and needing a lot of assistance in her day-to-day function she was an ocean of stories and wisdom and there was so much to learn and it made me understand the importance of care and valuing the elderly and giving them quality life whilst offering them respect and dignity. Making someone's life better who is not able to always has a positive effect on you, and that is my drive.
