I am a young professional at the beginning of my career with a strong interest in the environment and sustainability. I have proven experience building professional relationships and managing teams in previous roles, as well as skills in the critical analysis of data and information to assist problem solving tasks. I have more than three years of experience writing scientific reports from a number of scientific projects undertaken throughout my university education and work history. Most of all, my desire to learn, develop and succeed in all that I do makes me a strong candidate for any eligible position.
Master Of Conservation Biology
Bachelor of Marine Science
Most recently I worked for the New Zealand Government as an Investment Manager. I managed a portfolio containing several environmental science contracts with research institutes across the country. I was responsible for ensuring these institutes were utilising the funding to deliver tangible impact, build research capability and ultimately achieve economic, environmental and social benefit for New Zealand.
Before that, I worked for an Ecosanctuary as a Visitor engagement officer. I was responsible for educating and communicate a variety of conservation issues to them. I needed a comprehensive understanding of local conservation issues, species and current efforts to mitigate these issues. I aimed to improve people's understanding of the environment and stimulate their minds to be more conscious of the impact (positive and negative) they can have.
Lastly, I worked as a Duty Manager at a bar, where I was in charge of all aspects from kitchen to restaurant. I developed strong communication skills from interacting with a variety of clients, staff and senior management. I was involved in training new staff, enforcing strict alcohol and food policies and resolving conflict.
