General Manager – Rawabi Archer February 2014 – Present
I was given the challenge; and succeeded, in dramatically increasing the market visibility and share of Rawabi Archer in the Oil & Gas market with Saudi Aramco through the extensive contacts and strong relationships that I have built over the past 15 years of introducing of new products and services to the Saudi Aramco market.
Rawabi Archer is a 50:50 Joint Venture between Rawabi Holding Company and International Oil & Gas service company Archer. The products and services that I have introduced and promoted to Saudi Aramco are:
Fishing & Remedial Services, Completion Tools & Services, Well Bore Clean-Up Services, Casing Exit, and Drill Pipe & Tool Rental.
The introduction of these new products and services has increased revenue to meet the 2015 P&L Budget plan; I proposed, despite increases in CAPEX spending.
Group Oil & Gas Adviser to Group President & CEO December 2013 – Present
This role requires me to source and evaluate of new potential Joint Venture partners to strengthen the portfolio of products and services offered by Rawabi Holding to Saudi Aramco.
Through my network of contacts; both within Saudi Arabia and Internationally I have added International JV partners in the business lines of Downhole Drilling Tools, Drilling Instrumentation, Oil Rig/Oilfield Equipment Engineering & Manufacture, Well Testing, and Prevention of loss of Drilling Fluids and Contamination of Drill Sites.
I oversaw the set up of a Joint Venture company providing an in Kingdom Chemical manufacturing plant; this was to support the initiative of the Saudi Arabian Government and Saudi Aramco to source materials from within Saudi Arabia.
I have fostered strong relationships within the Scottish Oil & Gas business community and have assisted a number of companies to make an entry into the Saudi Arabian market through the GlobalScot network.
General Manager – Rawabi Trading & Contracting October 2010 – December 2013
While managing Rawabi Trading & Contracting I was instrumental in completing an update of the policies and Business practices governing the operations of the company. I instigated the set up of a field service group offering competent field engineers to service the requirements of International companies entering the Saudi Aramco market.
Under my management of the P&L and supervision the aggressive budget plan I proposed were achieved and exceeded; with >25% annual growth year-on-year.
Rawabi Trading & Contracting Company Ltd; a subsidiary company of Rawabi Holding Company, are one of the leading Trading & Contracting Companies in Saudi Arabia, the sole agents of more than 40 International Service and Manufacturing Companies, and Joint Venture partners to offer Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation products and services to the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Power Industries.
SG Petroleum, Saudi Arabia

I coordinated and managed a multi-national team to restructure SG Petroleum for its expansion into Kuwait, Iraq and the UAE from its base in Saudi Arabia.
SG Petroleum provided joint venture partnership and local agency representation of a large number of international Oil & Gas equipment and service providers in Saudi Arabia.

Swellfix International B.V. \ TENDEKA, Saudi Arabia

Business Development Manager – Northern Gulf
As Area Manager; holding full P&L accountability for the Northern Arabian Gulf countries; responsible for all Business Development and introduction of Swellfix Swellable Elastomer Technologies to National Oil Companies in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Bahrain. Through my extensive existing contacts and client relationships in these countries was able to fast-track the initial acceptance of these Swellfix technologies, and get suitable Trial Test wells assigned to ensure approval within Saudi Aramco in the shortest possible timeframe.
Through my network in Saudi Arabia I managed to secure some investment partners for TENDEKA who have seen the progressive approach of the TENDEKA group in the Middle East Region and are keen to be involved. I was responsible for identification and evaluation of suitable local representative agents in Kuwait, Bahrain, Iran, and Iraq to give support for a push into these new markets.
Weatherford Completion & Production Systems, United Arab Emirates/Saudi Arabia

Promotion of all Weatherford Sand Control and Completion systems to National and International Oil Companies across the Middle East\ North Africa Region. This was achieved through the building of new sales opportunities along with development and strengthening of existing client relationships.
I was able to explore the integration of multiple product lines to offer clients a more complete product\service package resulting in clients embracing a “one-stop-shop” approach to tackling new challenges. In North Africa this strategy resulted in multi-well projects in Sudan, Egypt, and Tunisia.

Project Management of Completions projects for clients across the Middle East and North Africa region, involving a high degree of client liaison in; – Contract Negotiations, Sales presentations and preparation of quotes and tender packages, and Customer Service to ensure customer satisfaction.

Project management of several World Record Open Hole Horizontal Gravel packs of over 6,000ft. Including the design of Horizontal Gravel Packs, modelling of Torque and Drag and preparation of pumping and gravel loading programs.
Baker Sand Control \ Baker Hughes INTEQ, Aberdeen
October 1992 – April 1996
Provided technical support for the Baker Hughes Eastern Hemisphere Sand Control operations.
Performed core flood testing of formation core samples; at reservoir temperature and overburden confining pressure, to establish formation damage potential of various drilling completion fluids. Formulation and mixing of drilling fluids for use in core flood and return permeability test apparatus.
I was responsible for the construction of a 30ft Plexiglas Gravel Pack Simulator, used to demonstrate Gravel Pack mechanisms in any wellbore trajectory to major Oil companies in the UK and Norwegian sectors of the North Sea.
Design and manufacture of fluid test apparatus, to evaluate the suitability of fluids for use in reservoirs… This apparatus in now used as a Global Standard for completion fluid cleanliness by a number of Service and International Oil companies.
Robertson Group, Aberdeen, Scotland

Responsible for the offshore retrieval and preservation of reservoir core samples using conventional and Resin Injection techniques. Determination of reservoir properties including permeability, porosity, and fluid saturation.
I was involved in the initial set-up of a new contract to provide resin preservation and laboratory analysis of unconsolidated core samples for an International Oil company in Nigeria.
