Project: BP Khazzan Gas Wells Expansion Projects ( GWES) – Location Block 61 Oman
Major duties include Carrying out civil works compliance inspections and supervision of Jacobs QC civils and roads inspection team to monitoring and witnessing of contractor’s activities during the construction phases of the GWES full gas field development projects GWES projects include construction of over 70 Drilling Rig Pads and associated Infield Graded Road’s and construction of new Asphalt Roads, together with numerous infrastructure upgrade projects including process plant, building and cam p construction.. Responsible for Approving construction materials i.e. Concrete Mix designs and concrete materials, Backfill materials. Inspection of Batching plants for approval to supply concrete for the project. Monitoring concrete placement and on site testing of concrete and inspections of rebar and formwork prior to concrete casting. Verification of compaction testing of backfill and foundations. Reviewing laboratory testing results to ensure they meet contract specification requirements.
Reviewing Contractor‘s Quality Control Plans, Inspection and Test Plans, Construction Method Statements, Project Execution Plans, prior to construction commencing. Assist contractors with technical problems arising from reviews and during construction phases. Keeping accurate records of daily activities and testing data. Ensuring all activities are done in strict accordance BP HSE policy current HSE regulations and industry safe practice
April 2002 to Jan 2013 – Wopat Nigeria Ltd (Chevron) – Construction & QC Company Representative
Project : Oil & Gas field Infrastructure projects (various) – Location Nigeria
Principle role as the Construction Representative QA/QC Senior Civils Inspector to Chevron Nigeria Ltd. at Escravos Oil Terminal Delta State. For inspection of heavy reinforced concrete works, Construction of Accommodation Blocks, Food Storage Warehouse, New Mess Hall and Kitchens, Aviation Tower, Fire Station Emergency Response Smoke House, plumbing and underground sanitary sewers associated with these buildings. Earthworks and backfill. 1.5 km of Structural Steel erection for Pipe racks, Tubular pile driving, auger and concrete piling, 10.5 km of asphalt &1km of Concrete roads and 1Km of Sand / Cement Stabilization under concrete road. Removal of swamp material and back filling with sand for concrete road and pad for Civil and Scaffold lay down yard. Approving construction materials ie. Concrete designs, Masonry blocks, Formwork materials, Backfill material. Reviewing design drawings, construction method statements, Project Execution Plans prior to construction commencing. Assisting contractors with technical problems arising from reviews and during the construction phases. Keeping accurate records of daily activities and testing data. Monitoring of Concrete batching and concrete placement on site . Conducting audits on contractors QA/QC depts. and personnel. Monitoring construction schedules. Jan 1999 to March 2002 Al-Hugayet (Aramco KSA) – Senior Civils QA/QC Inspector
Project : Hawiyah & Haradh Gas Plant and associated Pipelines – Location Saudi Arabia
Role was as a Senior QA/QC Civils Inspector to Saudi Aramco For inspection of heavy reinforced concrete works, underground sanitary, oily water sewers from 6” to 36” Dias. 10” firewater mains and all associated earthworks and backfill construction of 4 no Electrical Substations, Process Interface building’s, Central control room, 1km. of Structural Steel Piperack 20 m high, Off Plot Well Heads, Trunk and Flowlines various dias from 8” to 56”. Manifold and Scraper Trap areas 70 km’s of road construction, pipe line right of way’s (ROW). Construction of Pioneer Camps, prior to Main Contracts commencing. Approving construction materials i.e Concrete & Asphalt mix designs, Masonry blocks, Formwork materials, Backfill materials. Reviewing drawings and construction method statements prior to construction . Assist contractors with technical problems prior to and and during construction phases. Keeping accurate records of daily activities and testing data. Monitoring Concrete and Asphalt Batch Plants and auditing contractors QA/QC depts and personnel. Implementing HSE safe working practices on site.

Project : Aberdeen Water Mains Renewal Project – Location Aberdeen Scotland
Remit included: Working on a short-term contract comprising the renewal of Underground mains in various areas of Aberdeen using Pipebursting, Insertion and Open dig techniques. Organizing site activities and co-ordinating manpower and plant requirements. Measuring and locating Service Connections, Valves and Hydrants for Clients Record Drawings. Extensive liaison with Client, Contractors, Roads Department and Consumers regarding forthcoming work, and ensuring minimum disruption cause to essential services. Conducting pressure testing and water sampling in compliance with Health & Safety requirements following chlorination of mains. Carrying out regular QC inspections on site to ensure works progressing satisfactorily and site team working safely, attending meetings regarding same Problem solving in all aspects relating to site work.
November 1996 to May 1998 L.G. Construction Co. Ltd – Construction lead Project : . Shaybah Downstream Facilities, Abqaiq NGL Plant – Location: Abqaiq, Saudi Arabia
Position and duties included: Senior responsibility on a major upgrading and refurbishment project pertaining to existing NGL plant, incorporating Structural Concrete, Underground, Firewater, Sewer lines, 3km of 15m high Structural Steel Pipe Rack, Earthworks and Building and Finishing final Inspections to Control Room, Admin Building, Dining facility. Scheduling and attending client inspections and independent laboratory testing. Managing all civil records in compliance with ISO 9000 requirements. Formulation of Method Statements, Workplans, Quality Control Plan, Inspection and Testing plans and discussing/approving same with client’s representatives prior to commencement of site works. Carrying out routine QC surveillance monitoring inspections on site throughout period of contract and reporting on HSE related incidents. Providing assistance to construction design department when required with technical problems and holding short Toolbox meetings for teaching personnel concreting and backfilling pipelaying techniques. Keeping accurate site QC records for site civil activities for Claims and Change Orders.

Working as part of a construction team on seven river diversions, 760m of Concrete Retaining Wall, 5 large Tubosider-type culverts, 8m dia, and 3 no. Structural Steel and Reinforced Concrete Bridges prior to commencement of M74 construction. Conducting inspections prior to and during concreting operations to ensure criteria is met. Project :Cardonald Business Park Infrastructure – Location Glasgow, Scotland
Responsibility for hotel construction and finishing work, Earthworks, Roadwork’s, Large diameter Storm Water drainage, foul water drainage, field drainage and public utilities. Working on project relating to Dredging, land reclamation and diversion of River Clyde, comprising two bridges (Structural Steel and Heavy Reinforced Concrete Piling), drainage and earthworks. Active involvement in Road Make-up including Sub-Base, Blacktop, Landscaping and Fencing. Updating Daily Records of contractors’ activities for Claims, Dayworks and Change Orders. Performing routine QC monitoring and surveillance inspections review of QC records.
June 1990 to June 1991 Al-Mutawa Samyong NDT Co (Aramco) – Senior Civil Inspector (QA/QC)
Project : Dhahran Major infrastructure projects – LocationSaudi Arabia
Position based at Saudi Aramco, Dhahran Headquarters for construction of large Hospital, Housing and Warehouse Refurbishment, Structural and Finishings, Earthworks, Road make-up and Utilities prior to new housing development, in addition to work at Aramco Aviation Facilities at the new Dhahran International Airport, which included terminal and maintenance facilities. Conducting periodic inspection to existing facilities/housing, and follow-up inspections following repairs Maintaining records of contractors’ activities on a daily basis. Reviewing contractor QA/QC procedures. Inspections and test plans. (Remained in the area throughout the duration of the Gulf War).
May 1989 to June 1990 Summa Malta Ltd (Veba Oil) – Senior Civils QA/QC Inspector Project : Oil & Gas Infrastructure projects – Location Libya
Remit included: Sub-contracted to Veba Oil Operations (Libya), with inspection duties for construction and finishing works for three new Accommodation Blocks, Office Extension and refurbishment using marble etc., new Structural Steel Geological Laboratory, Workshops and Pumping Stations, new Fire Water Reservoirs, Water Treatment Plant and Camp utilities.
October 1987 May 1989 Crouch & Hogg – Construction/QC Superintendent Project : Faslane Submarine Base construction – Location Faslane Scotland
Civil works supervision and QC Inspection duties for blast-proof buildings, construction and finishings, Dredging for Cellular Coffer Dam construction and land reclaimation. Steel Tubular Socketed Piles, Universal Bearing Piles, Larsson Box pile walls, Pile Testing, Rock Anchor Installation and Stress Testing, Heavy Reinforced Concrete Structures, Structural Steel. Carrying out CCTV examinations of underground pipes and ducts to determine repairs required. December 1981 to May 1985 – Al-Raheji-Law Engineering Ltd – Snr. Civils Inspector/Snr. Materials Technician Project : Large scale Infrastructure projects – location Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Responsibility for Structural Concrete, Pre-Cast Concrete and high class finishings using Marble, Granite and Wood Veneers on the prestigious King Saud University Complex consisting of many large Faculty buildings, including 2000 seat Auditorium/Theatre, Banquet rooms, Mosque, Library and Admin Block. Supervision and co-ordination of Materials Technicians Responsibility for Earthworks, Roadworks and Structural Steel inspections, Concrete and Asphalt Batch Plant inspections and maintaining site records of inspections and testing for the King Saud University Complex. Responsibility for inspection of Structural Concrete, Pre-Cast Concrete and finishings for 120 room Sheraton Hotel and additional wing to Intercontinental Hotel which included large banqueting/seminar suite, 30 additional rooms and upgrading. Inspection of Structural Concrete Structural Steel finishings. Co-ordinating materials testing.
1973 to 1981 Borough of Sunderland Highways department – Street & Roadworks Area Supervisor Project : Road Maintenance Projects – North East England
Initial duties included role of Street Mason for laying flagstones, carrying out concrete work and tarmacing. Promoted to Chargehand supervisor role with responsibility for levelling, setting out and reporting, in addition to supervising junior staff. Latter responsibility for managing a team of 15-20 personnel located throughout a large area of Washington New Town, including co-ordinating and scheduling work and conducting quality control inspections.
