Amey, Communications Manager, Social Infrastructure

I am currently Communications Manager for the Social Infrastructure division within Amey, focusing on key clients such as; Ministry of Justice and Central Government.

Highlights include; coordinating and managing cultural change during the contract mobilization for the prison estates total facilities management contract, in which over 1000 staff transferred into Amey.

Key duties include: Managing a team of staff collating the monthly performance report and submitting to the client, overseeing senior stakeholder and community engagement strategies, developing a best-practice library, working with the central bid team to identify and tender potential new works, developing internal and external communications across the division, managing media and agency relations, planning and delivering corporate company inductions and training, delivering key business campaigns and hosting all events across the division.

I joined Amey in 2010 and have had a number of promotions since that time:

Key account management of major stakeholder relationships for the company within Birmingham. Acting as a point of contact for elected members, MP’s and local community groups with the aim to build relationships in line with our customer service KPIs. My main objective was improving the corporate profile and brand image across the division, as well as complaint and media relationship management. This was a technical role overseeing a budget and involved basic civil engineering training. I was also responsible for identifying new business development and bid opportunities for the Local Government Division.

Answering directly to the Marketing Director my role was focused on the re-brand project across the company, managing brand awareness and key messaging, working with key print and PR clients. Refreshing existing company-wide internal and external collateral, developing content for the new website and championing social media (in line with strategy and policy) across the business.
