ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Ritlotating Jet Plane-Based on Computer Graphics
Jan’09 – May’09
Description: Jet plane is an object created by combination of triangles. The triangles are created by using simple primitives like GL_TRIANGLES and given different colors using glColor3f () in openGL. The color filled triangles look like tetrahedrons. The Jet plane uses different triangular objects; these objects are combined and integrated to form a single object. By using arrow keys the rotations can be done by enabling the keyboard, doing the keyboard interfaced with display. While the Jet rotates, it will have different colors and shadings. The shape of the Jet will not get distorted after rotation because of the usage of Reshape function.
Technology Used: Operating system- WINDOWS XP, 98 or above
Programming language- C with OpenGL
Editor- Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0
Hardware requirements- Processor: PENTIUM 4, RAM: 96 MB or above, Frequency: 1 MHz
Key Learning: Learnt about openGL
Title: Security Protocol for Wireless Mobile Payment
Jan’10 – May’10
Description: This project underlines the need of Multifactor Authentication Techniques for secure financial web transactions and to increase faith of users on wireless financial transactions. It uses a novel approach to create an authentication system based on TIC (Transaction Identification Code) and SMS (Short Message Service) to enforce an extra security level along with the traditional Login/Password system.
Technology Used: J2ME (Java 2 Micro Edition), Servlet.JDBC(Java Database Connectivity)
Key Learning: Gained insightful knowledge of Java
Title: Design and Implementation of Arithmetic Coder Architecture in SPIHT
Duration: Jun’12 – Jul’13
Description: In this project, a simple context model which was built on neighbor pixel’s significant information was designed. Based on this context model, the context symbols which were formed by SPIHT (Set Partitioning in Hierarchical Trees) algorithm were processed in parallel by the arithmetic coder in order to speed up the performance. Arithmetic coding technique was incorporated in SPIHT chip.
Tools Used: Modelsim 6.2, Xilinx ISE 10.1
Key Learning: Learnt about Verilog HDL
PAPER PRESENTATION:
FPGA Implementation of Arithmetic Coder used in SPIHT’, at HMSIT, Tumakuru on 8th& 9th March 2013 and received second prize
