Career History

 November 2013-Present: Security Control Company (SCC)

a) In November 2013 my contract with Restrata was terminated as, on religious grounds, I was unable to work in Makkah and with no other projects in KSA, I was asked to find alternative employment. When I joined SCC as the Physical Security Integration Division Manager.

b) During this time I have secured a number of high value contracts including:

1) The CCTV and Access control systems for the British Embassy-Riyadh, including an annual PPM contract

2) The CCTV and Access control systems for the British Consulate in Jeddah including an annual PPM contract

3) The CCTV system for the Australian Embassy including the PPM contract

4) The repair of the integrated security system at Arkah Palace after 3 years. The MOI spent a number of months ‘finding’ me as the Commander of the Palace Guard requested that I become involved

c) Following SCC’s decision to pull out of the integration sector, I moved to the Security Consultancy department as the Lead Front End Engineering Design (FEED) Consultant. This involves creating the security systems up to 30% design stage to the HCIS Directives.

d) I am presently working on the FEED for a multi-site consultancy for a blue chip company here in Saudi Arabia

 

 

November 2010-November 2013: Restrata (Formally Olive Group)

a. In November 2010, I was made redundant after QSG decided to cease operations overseas, however, we transferred the operational contracts to OLIVE GROUP and I transferred with them.

b. In November 2011 a further 12 month fully comprehensive maintenance contract was awarded to Olive Group for the VVIP premises (Arkah Palace-Riyadh)

c. Following the death of the Crown Prince, the Maintenance contract was not renewed and I was asked to Project Manage 3 projects for Olive Group in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait and these projects are currently in progress.

a. Saudi Bin Ladin Group- 2 Projects –

i. $1.3m CCTV, ACS & PID system-Labour Camp in Makkah

ii. $ 1.5m CCTV, ACS, PID & Intercom system-Warehouse in Makkah

b. CACI-Kuwait- $0.5m CCTV, ACS & PID system-O&M Comms Centre-US Base Camp Arajifan

c. Maintenance manager-Saudi Arabia, responsible for all O&M on the peninsular, including:

i. CCTV & Access Control systems at the British Embassy-Riyadh & CCTV system-British Consulate-Jeddah

 

In December 2005, SDA Protec was acquired by Quadrant Security Group (QSG)

 

December 2005-November 2010: Quadrant Security Group (KSA) Ltd.

 

a) In October 2005, a $2.4m, 3 year fully comprehensive maintenance contract was awarded to SDA-Protec. For the VV VIP Palace in Riyadh. This involved the 24/7 cover to maintain, repair and generally keep the security system in full operational order.

b) In October 2008, a further $2.8m 3 year fully comprehensive maintenance contract was awarded For the VV VIP Palace in Riyadh to continue as per the previous three years

c) In 2009 QSG were awarded two contracts for the supply and installation of CCTV systems by the FCO for the British Embassy and British Consulate in Riyadh and Jeddah respectively including a PPM contract for both sites.

 

June 1996-November 2010: SDA Protec

 

a) I was asked to come to Saudi Arabia as a member of a 14 man design team working in Riyadh on a major Civil engineering project (SSSP)

b) Continuing to work on the project in the UK after demobilization of design team up to and including the Site Acceptance Tests (SATS)

c) Senior Engineer on the Pan-European Internet security system, designing and commissioning high-level security systems across the UK, Europe and Scandinavia.

d) Field support for security systems (Access and CCTV) in Prisons, Power Stations and high security establishments. (Full MOD Security clearance to CT level)

e) Promoted in Jan 2002 to Manager, Small Works department with a staff of 6. Regular dealings with Customers for additional works – full ‘concept to completion’ capability. Carrying out the design, sales, procurement, Installation and commissioning of works up to a value of £100k which also included:

i) Project manager for London Underground Ltd PPM contract.

ii) Project manager of HMP High Security Estate Pre & Post alarm upgrade. Replacing the pre and post alarm recording equipment in 9 Cat ‘A’ prisons

f) In 2004 I came to Saudi Arabia as the ‘In’ country Site manager of a major turnkey fully Integrated Security System of a VV VIP member of the Saudi Arabian Royal Family. Initially this project was a $1.9m project (Phase 1) on completion of phase 1 an additional $1.9m order was received for phase 2. The system consisted of CCTV, PIDS, and civil construction of 1.7 Km of fencing, SCR & Guardhouse, installation of Road Blockers, Boom Barriers and UVSS. CCTV comprised of over 100 cameras with the IDS comprising of external infra-red beams and Geoquip Defensor cabling (Over 60 zones).

iii) Also gave full training to operators and liaison with client and sub-contractors on contractual matters, payments and variations to contract

iv) I wrote the Request for Price (RFP) for the civil and fence section of the contract.

v) A further 2 phases were designed, supplied and completed between 2005 and 2008

 

August 1993-June 1996 Self Employed Contractor/Project Manager

 

Site/Project Manager for a number of large installations for major security companies including Thorn, ROMEC, BLE and Reliance Electronics

i) Project Manager on installation of Integrated Security Systems for London Underground Depots.

ii) Involved in final snagging of above project on District and Piccadilly Lines
