Senior Design Engineer, Safetell
Responsibilities include:
-leading a team of three Design Engineers
-taking responsibility for engineering design decisions
-reviewing engineering jobs and allocating work
-reviewing and approving engineering design work
-maintaining product documentation
-ensuring compliance with quality systems (including ISO 9001)
-liaising with suppliers to ensure quality and value for money
-liaising with customers in order to fulfill design briefs

Recent projects include:
Development and trial of secure cash-in-transit box
Leading a multi-disciplinary team in the design, development, testing and manufacture of a box that destroyed its contents in the event of theft or forced entry. Running the trial and being the first point of contact for the customer.
Development of anti-physical attack glazing system
Design of a cost effective and unobtrusive attack resistant glazing system to protect the customer’s staff from spontaneous aggression whilst allowing them to serve their customers.
Considerations included specification of level of attack resistance, defining the test program and design for mass production.
Specification of control system for fast rising security screen
Preparation of detailed specification document for an all new control system for Safetell’s bullet resistant rising screen. Putting job out to tender and selecting the best supplier based on quality and cost. Ensuring supplier’s development program remains on time and on budget.
