Developed an operational project improvement plan on behalf of BP for SOCAR’s Baku Deepwater Jacket Factory (BDJF). This included review of all processes and procedures from a finance, QMS and HSSE standpoint during the jacket construction phase and the identification of areas for improvement. Considerable time was spent on the budgeting and finance aspects of the project. Designed and implemented international budget & finance standards for better coordination with their international partners McDermott International, Saipem and Petrofac.

Chief Financial Officer (Interim)

 

Acted as an interim CFO for a large micro-financing organization in Kosovo for eight months in 2008. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) was directly responsible for managing all finance and accounting activities of microfinance bank and supervises all its finance staff. Ensured that the finance activities of microfinance bank will support microfinance bank in pursuing its mission with a minimum of risk and a maximum of efficiency. As a member of the Management Team/Board, I shared responsibility for the overall performance and activities of microfinance bank, and participated in making decisions on material issues. Major mandate was to convert to a fully licensed deposit-taking institute and comply to IFRS and IAS standards. Created appropriate reports: financial ratios; liquidity report; currency gap report; various credit reports; breakdown by branches/regions; breakdown by products; plan-fact comparison; historic development; other as required/appropriate. Managed a country wide staff comprised of nine branches of over 40 personnel. Member of the Audit Committee Board for FINCA Kyrgyzstan and FINCA Tajikistan.

Managed business advisory services projects which included risk management, business process improvement, supply chain management, internal control reviews and business process design as well as restructuring and reorganization. Responsible for coordinating on a monthly basis the Joint Venture accounting & billing system. In-depth knowledge of JV agreements.
