Profile

I am a very hard working and motivated person that enjoys a challenge. I pick up new skills/ideas very quickly and feel i work well as part of a team but i am also well focused when working singly using my own initiative. I have quite a high “hands on” approach towards all aspects of my work and once i know and understand the task i have been given, i like to get on with it instead of spending excessive amounts of time going over things that i have already covered. I have a very keen eye for detail and enjoy making things look/work the very best i can for its purpose. Outside of work, im quite an outgoing person, i enjoy taking my son out on bike rides and off-roading in the 4×4, and again anything quite hands on that gets me out and about. I also have alot of mechanical knowledge and enjoy working on cars/anything mechanical whenever i can!

Work History

Amfax LTD,
March 2013 to Present,

WIREMAN

My current role involves following wiring schedules/schematics to produce exceptional quality work to IPC 620 standards. On a day to day basis i do lots of soldering, crimping, cable assembly, rack assembly e.t.c and have made units for companies such as BAE, GE, UTC, COBHAM along with many others. I also assemble and fault find on prototype wiring. I like to get on with the work i am set but feel i co-operate well with my colleagues if there are any problems with the schedules/jobs in hand. I enjoy completing units and feeling that i have accomplished and built to the highest possible standard.

Blastech Ltd,
Oct 2011 to Feb 2013,

METAL FINISHING

My role here involved Shot-Blasting/Bead Blasting and painting/powder coating of bare metals that were pre-blasted. It was a very physical, hands on role that involved high numbers of safety pre cautions before, during and after every job. The key aim was to carry out any job to the highest possible standard for the customer. I enjoyed the feeling of taking something old and ready for the tip, giving it a new lease of life and feeling proud that i had completed it to the very best of my ability.

Freshwater Holiday Park (seasonal)

RETAIL/CHEF

This was a very different role for me as it was the first in a constant “face to face direct with the customer” role. I did alot of prepping/serving food in the kitchen, running the takeaway along with other duties. I feel the main thing i gained from my time here was exceptional customer service skills and learning how to manage difficult customers/critiscism correctly, I passed a basic food hygiene course, not to mention some skills in the kitchen as well!
