Facilities Manager Van Mildert College
• Currently managing, monitoring and implementing various policies, including Health & Safety, Fire Regulations, these include preparation and submission of 4 yearly Health & Safety inspection. Collating all relevant paper work relating to Student social events in line with University requirements. Offering advice & guidance were necessary to ensure safe enjoyable events for those attending.
• Attend weekly and monthly management meetings ensuring that information is disseminated to all staff, including critical direction and training regarding changes in, University, College and European policy initiatives relative to security, building regulations and Health & Safety. Chair Environmental meetings with representatives from all student groups and staff departments. The use of both written and verbal communications to disseminate to all staff levels.
• Responsible for the maintenance schedule (preventive maintenance) of all College property, liaising with University departments (E&B, CIS) ensuring that standards are maintained in quality of work whilst adhering to budgetary constraints. Strong working relationship with internal departments, catering, housekeeping encouraging and maintaining team work culture resulting in all striving toward the same goals.
• Allocate, manage varying levels of maintenance tasks ranging from replacements of light fittings to the relocation of office space. Achieving ability to provide mutual support to one another Colleges) on staffing issues.
• The day to day communication relevant to various service contracts including, internal and external bodies. In addition to ensuring timely inspections required by law, electrical, water, catering, fire etc.
• Ability through outstanding interpersonal skills to manage change in the workforce, including change in duties, working hours and rotas. All of which have been implemented successfully whilst in post.
