Angola LNG – a stand-alone business enterprise made up of shareholders Chevron, Sonangol, BP, Total & ENI will build and operate an LNG plant, associated pipelines, exploration and development of offshore gas reserves, infrastructure and social development projects with budget allocation of $10 billion. I joined the project in June 2008 with initial focus on the design and blueprint for SAP implementation overseeing the development of SAP Controlling (CO) module (budgets, planning, reporting), and of the Finance (FI) module. Following successful SAP go live in January 2009 I joined the management team in Luanda focusing on reporting, planning and maintaining a robust internal control environment.

BP Georgia / Azerbaijan – I joined the team in Georgia in June 2002 to engage in the organizational design & pre construction planning activities for the simultaneous construction of two pipelines, the Baku Tbilisi Ceyhan (BTC) & the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP) to carry oil and gas respectively from the Caspian Sea through Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.
The FC&A Manager role for this project encompassed all aspects of project cost control, planning, administration, partner audits etc. The role requires day to day directional input for all project components – land acquisition, safety, environment, cultural heritage, security, Government relations as well as the major construction activities. I was also responsible for the accounting for the Western Route Export Pipeline (WREP) & Supsa Terminal operations in Georgia. During my tenure in Georgia we also implemented SAP involving the design adaption and training of “superusers” and employees. The Team also made various process validations and analysis as a consequence of the introduction of the US Sarbanes Oxley Act (SoX)

BP Venezuela – Corporate financial reporting process improvement project implementing BP Group reporting system for former Arco entities and consolidation with BP/Amoco entities (Hyperion). The team developed a range of automated management reports and general ledger queries derived from the local accounting system to enhance management reporting. In addition I acted as Project Manager for BP Venezuela downstream organization in a successful project to “in-source” accounting functions from an outside contractor.
