Resolve Solution Partners: Supply Chain Consultant and Data Scientist
Resolve Solution Partners is part of the IMPERIAL Logistics group and specialises in supply chain consulting in various industries mainly within Southern Africa.
Key Responsibilities: Project management and delivery of medium to large projects, and sometimes involved in creating strategic solutions. Required to consider the practicalities and costs involved when proposing solutions, and find and recommended the best solution or approach from a range of options or possibilities. Involved with clients at a senior leadership level. Career guide for 2 analysts. Coordination of the graduate recruitment program for Resolve including some redesign and implementing of the current program. Development and facilitation for the majority of the training modules for graduates and greater business. Part of business development team for ‘Analytics as a Service’. Development of sustainable and flexible models/tools for repeatable use and tracking of financial, operational and implementation of KPI’s (Cost-to-Serve, S&OP, IQR).
Savings: Contributed to savings of more than R10 million across multiple clients and industries.
Supply chain strategy, planning, operations and analytics:
• Part of team that successfully managed the design, implementation and operation of a supply chain strategy and business transformation project for an Ethanol producer in Southern Africa. The 3-year engagement involved the following: supply chain structure design and implementation; integrated forecasting and planning (S&OP) design, development and implementation; and contract management with logistics service providers for sea and road. This gain share project added R9 million to the net profit of the client.
• Successfully managed a national network review of both commodity and consumer products for a leading global FMCG company using cost to serve analysis and network modelling tools. The network review included optimal physical network requirements and associated costs to manage the network for client; optimal physical storage locations, the required size, annual operating costs and locations of such facilities; establishment of a future state network that will enable the clients’ future growth and logistics requirements. Furthermore, assistance provided to service providers regarding the roadmap for establishing such optimal network.
• Conducted and managed scenario modelling and business case design project for a Poultry company that required a re-evaluation of their Gauteng local route to market for fresh and frozen products. Proposed a direct-from-factory distribution solution that will enable superior customer service at lower cost-to-serve levels.
• Part of business case design team of a Logistics Command Centre (LCC) for a leading Beverages company. Establishment of requirements of transport, people, processes and systems of national inbound and outbound distribution. The high level objective of the LCC is to improve visibility and reduce complexity of the planning processes, invoice process as well as the overall network. Identified over R200 million savings over a 3-year implementation roadmap.
• Conducted and managed supply chain network optimization and cost-to-serve analysis projects for 4 leading FMCG companies as well as a Sub-Saharan Tabaco Company.
• Assisted with a comprehensive study on the state of the road and rail network infrastructure along the major transport corridors in the SADC region for a global infrastructure engineering firm. A research paper was developed and sold to a global mining company in DRC.
