Whilst on Sabbatical from EY London, I went to Pakistan and got this opportunity of working as Finance Manager in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Oil & Gas Company Limited (KPOGCL), a Company owned by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with the main aim to increase upstream activities in the province. I was responsible for first year budget of Rs 8.7 billion.
Responsibilities were
• Financial leadership, accounting advisory and process formation services.
• Developing the finance & accounts department.
• Financial reporting on company portfolio investments & investment proposals.
• Overall corporate governance implementation in all areas of operations.
• Functional review of significant contracts, deal structure, and processes.
• Business integration support for joint venture projects and due diligence.
• High and mid-level strategic planning.
• Developing comprehensive cash flow forecasts including detailed financial & investment modelling and sensitivity analysis for presenting to the BOD.
• Preparation and presentation of financial forecasts to various stakeholders.
• Significant interaction with executives across banking community.
