KEO International Doha South Sewerage Treatment Works Phase II Doha, Qatar
Worked as Senior Mechanical Engineer at Doha South Sewage Plant., the project comprises design and construction for the expansion and modification of an existing sewage treatment plant by extending the inlet works, modifying the distribution chamber and various pumping stations, building new sequencing batch reactor (SBR) of 80,000 m3, ultra-filtration plant of 250,000 m3/day with balancing tank, pumping station , sludge thickening and dewatering, conversion of primary digestion tanks to aerobic digester, Storm water lagoon and final effluent storage lagoon of 400,000 m3 capacity, refurbishment of existing substation, landscaping/irrigation and 2.2 Km of precast concrete boundary walls with the security system. The cost of the project is QR 690 Million. Responsibilities included the followings: Review and check of the Contractor’s submitted design packages and drawings, materials, submittals and all related Mechanical Items. Supervise the Mechanical staff on site during construction. Assist the project manager with all issues related to mechanical works. Monitoring of the mechanical works as per contract specification and requirement

Employed at Alexandria Waste Water Treatment Plant at Alexandria Egypt, the project consists of rehabilitation and extension of existing plant to increase the capacity from 180,000 cubic meters per day to 800,000 cubic meters per day. Responsibility included the followings: Overall responsibility on site for the supervision of the mechanical works contract as per contract specification and requirement, management and coordination the consultant’s on site team, verification of the interim and final statement of the work, advise the project manager on any issues such as contractor’s claim, inspection of the mechanical works during erection and defect notification period, prepare monthly progress meeting and experience in welding and painting inspection.
2009 – 2010:

The aim of the project is to design new stations and upgrade the existing water & wastewater treatment plants; Elaboration of strategies for treated water reuse and for sludge disposal. Duties as Process Engineer for Water & Wastewater Treatment include:
• Site survey of water & wastewater treatment stations, sludge disposal & water reuse plants.
• Data collection & evaluation, including: 1-Design information as the Process description, control philosophy, original tender documents etc.; 2-Drawings as the P& ID’s.
• Conceptual designs including the Process Modelling and Preliminary Cost estimation (M& E & Civil) for:
• Wastewater Treatment Stations with secondary, tertiary or/and disinfection depend on the purpose of the water reuse;
• Sludge treatment and disposal including Composting, Aerobic digestion, Dewatering, Heat Drying and Incineration;
• Treated water reuse including the aquifer recharging, agriculture reuse and water industrial. The solutions are designed in conformity with water reuse regulation and Health Risk concerns. The choice of the solutions of agriculture reuse was based on the standards for agronomics and water quality considerations in similar regions.
• Water Reuse Risk Assessment with environmental risk analysis, Hazard identification and Exposure assessment with conformity Health Guidelines for Use of Wastewater.
2007- 2009:
Associated Consulting Engineers Int. Expansion of Raysut WRP with External Works Salalah, Sultanate of Oman
Employed at Water Reclamation Plant (WRP) at Salalah, Oman. The project scope of work is expansion works of existing plant to increase the average daily sewage flow from 20,000 cubic meter/day to 35,000 cubic meter/day. This includes construction of the following elements: Treated effluent pumping station, primary treatment plant, secondary treatment plant expansion and renovation works. Also the scope of works includes construction of collection network and area pumping station. My responsibility included the following: Ensure successful completion of the project in time, budget and required quality. Supervised a crew of five people in construction of sewage plant project. Review the submittal of each manufacture equipment and ensure it complies with contract specification. Worked according to FIDIC.
2005 – 2007:

Employed at Doha South Sewage Treatment plant, the project scope of work was construction of additional treatment stream, modification of existing works and improvement of sludge treatment stream to meet the flow of the year 2013 flow and loads. Therefore the followings shall be implemented: New inlet works, reception chamber, screening, grit removal and odour control, SBR Sequencing Batch Reactor, Conversion of secondary digesters to aerobic digester, Blower House Building, Replacement of DAF Sludge thickener with centrifuges, Replacement of filter press with dewatering centrifuges, Conversion of primary tanks to storm tanks and Installation of SCADA unit. My responsibilities included the followings: Ensure the successful completion of projects by contractor in time, budget and required quality, Review shop and working drawings, Review the submittal of each manufactured equipment and ensure it complies with contract specifications. Equipment such as screw pumps, gear boxes, penstocks, stop logs, overhead crane, trolley hoist, mobile crane and other mechanical equipment. Responsible for construction progress control according to work plan and prepare daily and monthly reports, Review erection method of statement of each mechanical equipment attached with shop drawings of each equipment, Inspection of mechanical equipment in the manufacture whether abroad or to manufacture locally, Follow up equipment shipment to site and ensured it is stored according recommendation, Review interim statement and manage any claim activity, Enforce safety procedure according to contract requirements, Follow up the progress of mechanical and piping erection, Testing of equipment in site after erection, Familiar with FDIC. , Commissioning, worked with SCADA and PLC. Employed at Kalag and Khossous screw pumping station for WWTP of multi million dollars project (1.2 million cubic meter treated water per day), was selected to visit Germany for mechanical equipment inspection. Mechanical Equipment such as screw pumps, gear boxes, overhead cranes, mobile cranes, penstocks, stop logs. Reviewed and implemented design Criteria, drawing standards and design guidebooks for uniform application by contractor of pump station and related equipment. Verified the existing design data, drawings and specification. Conducted periodic Co-ordination meeting between the owner, suppliers and Contractors. Assisted in the Pre-qualification and selected suppliers of material and equipment such as screw and drainage pumps, penstocks, stop logs, ventilation, gear box, mobile crane and gantry crane to be furnished by Contractor. Review vendor material and equipment and ensure complying with contract specification. Review mechanical submittal, shop and working drawings. Responsible for construction progress control according to work plan and prepare daily and monthly reports. Experience in welding and painting inspection. Follow up equipment shipment to site and follow up the storing procedure as per manufacture recommendation. Testing and commissioning.
