INTERNSHIP
June 2011 – August 2011
Acquired hands-on experience in manufacturing and testing of some accessories like the pressure reducing valves, steam traps, components for condensate recovery loop and control valves of boilers. Analyzed role and scope of all the components in energy conservation.
BRITISH FEDERAL’S NASH ROBOTICS AND AUTOMATION PVT., LIMITED
INTERNSHIP
December 2008 – January 2009
Worked with a team responsible for manufacturing a Medium Frequency Spot Welder. It had a three phase load distribution, near unity power factor and very high secondary current capability due to reactance component being zero.
PROJECTS
Design and Development of Automated Tri Cycle for Physically Challenged People
Designed and manufactured a Tri cycle and added an electric motor to it to enable the physically challenged to commute without manual effort. A 250W 24 V 30 Amp BLDC Hub motor with a planetary gear reduction was used. The maximum torque achieved was about 28 Nm at 140 rpm, with a full current at an efficiency of 72% and eventually the force applied on the wheel was 55 N with a 20” tire. Two 12V 26 Amp batteries connected in series served as a DC power source.
Design and Manufacturing of a ‘Bench Tip Dresser’
Designed a pneumatic electrode dresser which reconditions worn out tips, reducing downtime rather than replacing tips. By re-sharpening the electrode we could extend its life and reduce the scrap substantially. For this we used a pneumatic Lesson Motor which is a 2Hp, 3450 rpm reduced to 1800 rpm at blade delivering 10Hp.
