Project Brief: Deployment IT infrastructure for reaching the target-state technology of Telenor group, a series of technology transformation initiatives have been initiated by Telenor Global Shared Service in order to build a foundation for future initiatives with significant cost reduction. The scope covers deployment of new VMware cluster and new SPARC platform, which will leverage on GP’s existing Backup, Network and Storage infrastructure with lower the cost and improve capabilities along with stable infrastructure operations.

 

ii) Application Migration [Sep’15- Mar’17 (forecasted)]

My role: Project Manager for Grameenphone Ltd.

Project Brief: Migrating applications under SPARC and X86 platform to GSS virtualized platforms will deliver significant cost savings by replacing existing silo-base IT infrastructure into a standardized, shared and service-oriented IT Infrastructure. This standardization and infrastructure sharing will lead to lower investment and operations cost, along with consistent higher availability, flexibility, efficient security management and monitoring options.

 

iii) Active Directory Standardization [Sep’15-May’16 (forecasted)]

My role: Project Manager for Grameenphone Ltd.

Project Brief: Standardizing Active Directory forest-domain and to maintain User /Application Authentication, Access Controls, Group Policies and Organizational Information.

GSS-GP IPLC link and relevant services migration:

My role: Project Manager for Grameenphone Ltd. [project was governed by Telenor group]

Project Brief: Establishing a new IPLC link for GP and Telenor Global Shared Service and migrating applications from existing and old GSS-GP and Accenture-GSS IPLC link. More than 78% of annual OpEx were saved through implementing this new IPLC link and subsequent migration activities.

Project Brief: Increasing efficiency on high data load handling and enhancing performance during analysis of RAFM server.

 

Savar Data Center (White Cloud) ESX version upgrade:

Project Brief: Upgrading VMware ESX version from 4.1 to ESXi 5.5 for 9 ESX servers containing 217 VMs consisting of both Windows and Linux OS for GP virtual platform.

Bangladesh Railway Telecom System Modernization project

My role: Project Manager and Contract Owner [Duration: Apr’12 to Aug’14]

Project Brief: As per contractual obligation with Bangladesh Railway (BR), GP needs to maintain railway telecom system and infrastructure along with employees of the Bangladesh Railway Telecom Department (BRTD). Transforming nation-wide traditional copper-based system of BR network into efficient IP and fiber-base system with the objective for ensuring higher system availability with nominal faults and efficient manageability using latest IP-phone technology. Project deliverables were:

• Country-wide fiber back-bone readiness with 612 links under BR Network

• IP-base Train-Controller and Station-To-Station telecom system in entire BR network, with IP MPLS protection

• Fiber-based point-to-point railway signaling block communications solutions

Project Brief: Installation and commissioning of PSTN system for nationwide digital exchange at prime and remote locations of Bangladesh.

Village phone business development in Uganda

My role: Expertise support on Village Phone program in Bangladesh.[2003]

Project Brief: The project in Uganda was based on a program that the Grameen Telecom established in Bangladesh. The Grameen Technology Center, an initiative of Grameen foundation USA (GF-USA), established the first replication of the Grameen Village Phone model with the launch of MTN VillagePhone Uganda (VP Uganda) in November 2003. Village Phone Uganda is a joint venture between GF-USA and Mobile Telephone Network (MTN), Uganda.

 

An information-based multi-media CD project for Grameen Foundation USA focusing Grameen Bank and Grameen Organizations.
