• Inspection/Certification of Rotary equipment like Centrifugal Pumps, Process Pumps etc. including stage-wise inspection, performance testing (including NPSH) as per API 610, strip test, dispatch clearance.

• Inspection and testing of valves as per API 598, API 6D.

• Follow up and expediting of Vendor manufactured materials, equipment, skids etc.

• Interview & selection of manpower for various trades from worker up to manager level. Conducting trade tests / qualifications for welders, fitters etc.

Responsibilities handled related to Quality Management :

 

During Engineering Stage of Project:

To fulfill the Quality requirements for the pre-qualification & tendering.

Review of Engineering deliverables like Datasheets, Material Requisitions, Material Specifications during Preparation for confirmation of Inspection & Testing requirements.

Preparing TQs and specifying Quality requirements to vendors during order finalization stage.

Co-ordinating with Vendor & Client regarding technical deviations, raising Deviation Requests / Concession Requests.

 

During Procurement Stage of Project:

Participate during Vendor Evaluation & Approval process. Ensure that Approved Vendor List is maintained by Procurement department. Reviewing the Purchase Orders for technical compliance & Quality requirements.

Conducting Pre-inspection meeting at vendor’s works as a Quality representative of the EPC contractor & convey the Project Quality requirements.

Review/commenting and approval of documents like NDT Procedures, FAT procedures, painting procedures, ITPs, welding procedures for the Vendor manufactured items like Pressure vessels, Static/Rotary Equipment, Pipes/Fittings, Line pipes, Pig Launcher/Receivers, block valves, Pig signalers, Control valves, Flare stack, Air compressor, Barred tees, Isolation joints, filters, Metering station, Skid packages etc.

Co-ordinate with TPI agencies & ensure the deputation of Inspectors for Inspection assignments at Vendors works as required by Vendor Notification/ITPs.

Review of Flash Reports / Inspection Reports / IRNs prepared by TPI Inspectors & highlight for any discrepancies noticed. Ensure the close-out of the discrepancies thro’ proper channel before the materials are dispatched.

Raise NCRs on Vendors as applicable. Attend joint inspections with Client (as required) at Vendors works / Project Sites.

 

During Construction Stage of Project:

Ensure the Inspection team is suitably sized with adequate skills. Obtain approval for the QAQC Personnel from Client.

To prepare Project Quality Plan, Method statements, ITPs, QAPs, QCPs, Formats. Resubmit by incorporating the Customer comments & obtain approval.

Ensure implementation/control of the Approved QMS at project sites by deputing Inspectors for various activities (as required by ITP) and maintain RFI system. Ensure preparation of Inspection Reports.

To Prepare Audit Schedule, Plan and conduct the Audit, Prepare Audit Report, Report the deficiencies in the system thro’ CARs/Observations/Recommendations, Follow-up for the Corrective/ Preventive Actions and close the CARs.

To perform First Party & Second Party Quality Audits within the Organization & on Subcontractors. Conduct Opening & Closing meetings of the Audit.

To face Owner/Customer/Third Party audits as Quality Representative of the project.

To manage the QA/QC team, their activities in the subcontractor’s offices & on site. Conduct weekly QAQC meetings.

Assist various departments in setting the KPIs, Quality Objectives. Collect data & report the continual improvement.

Prepare weekly/monthly Quality Reports and submit to Project Management, Client, Head office.

Approve the recommendations for corrective or preventive actions (such as revision of documents, product rectifications or use as is, operator training etc.)

Manage Specific Inspection Contracts such as NDT, PWHT, TPI services, Mechanical/Civil testing laboratory. Ensure supervision of Contractors

To control the performance of NDT subcontractor for timely execution of NDT activities such as RT/MT/PT/PWHT etc & to resolve their problems in order to expedite the work.

Conducting Quality Training Programs within the organization.

Maintain the IMTE register & ensure the use of calibrated instruments at site by various departments. Organize recalibration of IMTEs.

Compilation, Review & Acceptance of Quality Dossiers at site and Certification Packages from Vendors/subcontractors & handing over of Project documentation to Customer.

Develop Welding procedures, Qualify them in field & get the same approved from client. Estimation of requirement of welding consumables, weld repair rate analysis & control, welder’s qualification, hot tap simulation welding, maintaining WPS/welder register etc.

Inspection of static and rotating equipment like Vessels, Drums, Furnaces, Pumps etc., for alignment, bolt tensioning etc., as per approved ITP’s & Project specifications.

In process inspection of Plant Piping to meet requirements of ASME B31.3 & relevant ITPs. Experience in handling different materials such as CS, LTCS, Various grades of SS, Monel, GRE.

In process inspection of piping, pipe supports, Structural items like box columns, girders, bracings.

Fabrications of Motor Stands & HP Coolers of Nuclear Power pumps having NDT requirements as per ASME Sec. III NB & NF.

Inspection of shell & tube heat exchangers manufactured as per TEMA class ‘R’, ‘C’, and ‘B’.
