HP Business Exchange Services (BES) Healthcare enables and manages the secure, reliable, and industry-compliant exchange of healthcare administrative transactions between payers and providers in a managed service environment

BES Healthcare project consist of upgrading its system in order to be ready to use the updated X12 standard, version5010 for electronic transactions with existing trading partners. To successfully accomplish this task, key architectural additions and modifications were made to integrate Edifecs XEngine validation, Edifecs MapBuilder, Edifecs SpecBuilder, Edifecs Transaction Management and Sybase ECRTP translation onto Linux and UNIX platforms respectively. Along with these applications, the surrounding workflow and supporting web method applications were also developed to enable both a stand-along Linux/Unix BES HC system as well as a hybrid for those existing accounts that rely upon Nonstop-only applications.
