Profile

I identify myself as an extremely passionate person for education, and I’ve already taught people of many different ages and socio-cultural backgrounds. After teaching Physical Education for some years, the fact of being constantly exposed to different cultures/languages and recognised as having a clear and neutral accent, inspired me to upgrade my career and become also an English teacher. I always care deeply about my students and my main goal is to prepare them to become self-directed learners, which means helping them to take responsibility for their own learning process and develop skills like independent thinking, communication, self-evaluation, teamwork, or healthy lifestyle awareness.

Key Skills

• Team work and leadership – Being a teacher/coach I’m always responsible for many individuals at the same time, and I have to manage that group of people towards the success of everyone.

• Individual approach and communication skills – Since every individual is different regarding their social and cultural background, I always try to integrate academic, emotional and social needs of each student/learner individually. This means also being a good listener, and find the best way to transmit efficiently the information according to different types of personalities and ages.

• Planning towards a goal – Whether in school or coaching I’ve always had to plan and implement the best way to achieve a goal at the end of the year/season. That means choosing (and changing along the way if needed) the most appropriate approach for teaching/training, from a wide range of techniques – or even mix a few of them – according to the group I have in my hands.

• Events organization and promotion – In schools or sport clubs I’ve always been part of sport events organization – planning, coordination and evaluation.

• Information technologies and Computers (including MS Office software) – advanced skills.

• Audio/Video Digital Multimedia – advanced skills.

• Volleyball and Football (soccer) – Experience as a player.
