Key Duties and Responsibilities
 Participating in corrective and preventive maintenance in the transmission system.
 Working on High voltage transmission lines like 132kv,220kv,400kv and 500kv.
 Assisting in the collection of data on transmission infrastructure and submission of reports for analysis.
 Participating in investigating causes of system breakdowns and taking prompt corrective action.
 Operating and maintaining transmission lines as per the approved procedures and work instructions.
 Carrying out pre-commissioning inspection of newly constructed transmission lines and participating in commissioning.
 Conducting inspection/ audit of existing transmission lines.
 Participating in the preparation of work plans for transmission maintenance works.
 Performing switching operations as per the approved policies and procedures.
 Investigating causes of faults and disturbances in the system and rectifying them.
 Carrying out repairs and maintenance of transmission lines and equipment.
 Participating in planning for outages on transmission lines.
 Operating substation control and isolation equipment as per the instructions from the system controller at the NSCC during shutdown.
 Erection of towers and Emergency Restoration towers in case the tower goes down or re-routing the transmission lines.
 Stringing of the transmission line during construction of new lines.
 Spacer replacement on transmission lines during a shutdown.
 Reinsulation of worn-out insulators on transmission lines after a certain period of service.
 Carrying out any other official assignments and duties that may be assigned from time to time.
