Royal Navy 1987 – Present
Weapons Engineer
During a distinguished and rewarding career within the Royal Navy, held positions of great responsibility and gained significant expertise and experience on competencies such as:
Senior Engineer / HMS KENT
Implemented expert electronic/radar principles onboard, maintaining complex electronic systems and providing the command with the maximum operational capability possible, duties included:
• Maintained complex radar systems providing the command with 95% operational capability
• Employed expansive electronic knowledge ensuring section equipment operated with utmost efficiency
• Liaised with outside authorities ensuring the ship provided with the highest support achievable
• Supervised the Weapon Engineering Department during duty periods, confirming correct routines were administered
• During intense patrol periods carried out Operation Room duties informing the command of the departmental capability
• Developed junior member’s engineering skills through onboard training encouraging career growth
Senior Engineer / NATO Joint Warfare Centre (JWC)- Stavanger
Ensured that the IT workshop functioned more efficiently, assisted in the procurement of IT equipment within the establishment, achievements included:
• Modified working practices in the IT workshop at NATO JWC, establishing a more efficient customer service
• Set up the initial IT build for NATO exercises at JWC
• Provided first line IT support during NATO exercise at JWC
• Liaised with procurement team to provide cost effective solutions
Senior Engineer / HMS DARING
Communications group head onboard taking the ship from initial build state through acceptance into the Royal Navy, vigorous first of class trials culminating in Daring’s first operational deployment, awarded CINCLEET commendation for outstanding work, duties included:
• Implemented and monitored working/maintenance routines onboard the Royal Navies most advanced warship providing the command with a consistent communications
• Liaised with outside authorities ensuring the ship provided with the highest support achievable
• During intense patrol periods carried out Operation Room duties informing the command of the departmental capability
• Supervised the Weapon Engineering Department during duty periods, confirming correct routines were administered
• Moulded inexperienced team developing engineering and management skills required for a new challenging environment onboard the Royal Navies latest warship
• Developed junior member’s engineering skills through onboard training encouraging career growth
Trainer / Royal Brunei Naval (RBN) Technical School
Provided the RBN students with excellent instruction in both basic and system electronic engineering, achievements included:
• Redesigned electronic and electronic sub system course syllabus for the Royal Brunei Navy providing more up to date training
• Commissioned classroom navigation radar enabling students to develop fault finding and maintenance routines
• Assisted in physical training producing the highest pass rate for fitness test in RBN
