Restructuring technology service & product organisation into 5 different technology Business Units OSP fibre optics / Wireless communications (IBS Mobile) / DC Power / Managed enterprise services & IT Services, with the main purpose of scaling a 600 strong organisations for growth and increased efficiency.
Internal auditing so as to understand the strengths & weaknesses of the company and implement strategies to improve pre-sales, implementation and operational performance across all business units.

Co–founded the consultancy company with a focus on European telecommunications consultancy services, operational strategy and opportunity investigation.
Won Irish Government tender to support an audit on national mobile broadband schemes (I-HSPA) funded by the national exchequer.
Built a start–up telecom and technology consultancy, achieving a turnover of $700,000/year at peak.
Developed a due-diligence / business & technology audit service to banks and private equity on European telecoms acquisitions.
Won major tender for chief consultancy to Irish Government on the feasibility of building a new national next generation network NGN (FTTX) with a planned spend of €4B.
Launched the business to provide broadband ‘power-line’ service for small business market.
Worked from trials to market on developing a trial pilot BPL service with a national utility provider.

CTO, Spinhalf Ltd, UK 2005 – 2006
Responsible for building and supporting new services for IP hardware and software solutions through competitive benchmarking for customers. Managed lab testing, recruited and motivated cross-functional team, developed technology partnering, negotiated contracts, presented customer presentations and trade show displays and managed the closure of the business.
Built customer field trials for hardware and software deployment.

Vice President of Global Implementation / Operations / Engineering with Liberty Global (MSO), The Netherlands 1997 – 2004
Rolled-out start up ISPs across 14 countries on 3 continents before moving to operations and engineering, accountable for 250 IT staff across Europe.
Key member of the management team in scaling a start-up broadband ISP division from a 2000 field trail to a 6 Million broadband subscribers business across 14 countries, through distribution of services and product lines.
Built the PMO office/technical implementation teams which became the only specific department mentioned in the IPO as critical element requirement for the company valuation and IPO launch.
Set-up a 24/7 world-class network operations centre to monitor and service ISP systems (data centres) and networks throughout the globe.
Reduced operational budget by 40% (€25M to €15M) over a 2 year period during a major recession by scaling the business to handle more subscribers with a measured better quality of service (KPIs) and allowing greater operational transparency to senior management.
Streamlined engineering design specifications to simplify management, trained mitigate business risks and reduce costs.

Pioneered, developed and implemented nationwide radio propagation prediction tool, covering a franchise area of 28,000 sq kms and reduced operational costs by over €1.3M/year.
Built a local efficient service operations centre.
Managed GIS data services and 12 person team to design and plan HFC (Fibre/Coax) networks.
