Published Dissertation: “THE DETERMINANTS OF MIGRANT REMITTANCES,
During this Dissertation,
• Researched and analyzed the factors influencing a migrant’s decision to remit, using the World Bank Living Standards Measurement Study (LSMS) data sets on two states in India, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
• According to the literature there are two main motives for remittances, one being Altruism and the other being Transfer.
• It was found that ‘Altruistic’ motives dominated over ‘Transfer’ motives; in general.
