• Fabrication of thick plate

• Manual metal arc welding

• Cutting by shear

• Pattern develoment

• Bending and folding

After completing the above modules (with both practical and written assessment) I received grades ranging from passes to distinctions at City and Guilds level.

Employment History

Self employed from September 2011 during which time I worked for Thames Clippers replacing various bows and inserts, work always inspected by MCA. Work varied on their fleet of 14 vessels. Work mainly carried out in dry dock at Chatham.

Further self employed projects involved replating an aft section of a 60ft

survey vessel and a complete rebuild (other than jet bay) for Port of London Authority.

Burgess Marine 2005 -2011

Whilst working for Burgess I was fortunate to work with various metals (ferrous and non-ferrous) and learn to two new welding and fabrication techniques. I have been exposed to a wide range of projects including the fabrication of aluminium car ramps for HD ferries, aluminium boat hulls, structural repairs to ferries, lifting equipment and other industrial welding/fabrication projects.

I was assigned a project to construct a 150ft super class ketch for Pendennis World Class Super Yachts in Falmouth. As I have stainless steel codings, it was my responsibility to undertake the welding on the previously mentioned yacht and The Illusion (another luxury yacht).

I was also contracted to build a speedboat garage on the aft end of The Illusion. This was fabricated from mild and stainless steel and required flux core disimilar and flux core stainless welding methods. (Please see attached for examples).

Nusteel 2001 -2005

During my employment I spent much of my time fabricating and welding sections for bridges, motorway gantries and various other large structures.
