Sr. Project Engineer
The MCSC Lloyd’s registered, ISO 14001:2004, ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 18001:1999 is leading Construction and Maintenance Company, specializing in refinery and oilfield jobs. The focal point for MCSC projects are Multi Million Dollar strategic investment Projects and Shutdown works of oil and Gas Industries. MCSC handles project engineering and management from the EPC phase up to the commissioning and final completion, constructed Brown field and green field projects, which includes Mechanical, civil and E& I work.
I have a senior role as one of the three Key Sr. Project Engineers reporting to the Project Manager and acting as his replacement in his absence. I am Responsible for the overall construction activities during the Project which involves lead a civil construction team of Superintendent, Site Engineers, Surveyors, Supervisors and Support Staff, including Safety and Quality Representatives together with a multinational work force of between 200 to 300 personnel.
Duties include all aspects of construction, from raising initial work order to final completion and hand over. Prepared construction documents, construction execution plan, method statement, FWBS and budget. In line with project requirement, finalized the subcontractors and suppliers. Resolved technical issues, initiated safety walk-through, lead the project team members during weekly meetings, ensured the work quality and documents for final dossier, initiated the comparative study on quantity and cost against the budget.
An EPC contract, New Tank Battery Project; As a Sr. Project Engineer, ensured consistent application of, and advised the EPC Package Lead on, the following: Project Specifications, Scope of Work, Interfaced Schedules, Provided details for RFI’s, Data Sheets, Technical Specifications, Input for Technical Queries, Site Survey and reports, Plot plan and equipment layout adjustments, Model reviews, Review of ITP/QCP and IFC drawings documentation to ensure alignment with Project Specifications.
Took part and cleared the issues highlighted in pre-commissioning reviews and activities, Mechanical Completion walk-downs and in commissioning activities.
In last seven years with MCSC, I have planned, organized and supervised various projects, with the quantity totalling to; structural concrete – 20,000 Cu m, Reinforcement steel – 2500 tons, epoxy coated reinforcement steel – 200 tons and formwork – 40,000 Sq m, Grouting – 1000 Cu m. All the works and materials were confirming to BS and American standards. Supervised the installation of pre-engineered structures (1000 tons), had organized the construction and procurement of 2 substation buildings for oil and gas industry.
Also responsible for the proposals group within the company, assessed the bids and tenders prior to submittal, prepared the detailed cost estimate for civil package, participated in post tender meetings with Clients, contributed towards obtaining major projects; Construction of Compressor station 8/20 (17.5 Million USD), Carbon dioxide recovery plant (Civil Package 9 million USD), 2 new Tank battery project (35.5 Million USD) and other various minor projects in Bapco, Alba, Banagas and GPIC.
In addition, I had been deputed as a planning engineer for Refinery Gas Desulphurization Project; I had planned and scheduled the civil construction activities in the project having 2 million man hours. Analysed the critical path and developed an integrated level 3 schedule, maintained milestones between EPC Contractor and Sub-contractors.

Received a safety award on successful achievement of ONE MILLION SAFE EMPLOYEE-HOURS from Tatweer Petroleum for the ongoing project ‘EPC for Tank Battery’.
Implemented concrete waste management and pollution control measures
Raised the company safety profile by introduction of many safety initiatives
Improvement in Project Management and Production Capability by introduction of many new forms and procedures
Organized 500 Cu m of Mass concreting in single pour

Site Engineer
I was responsible for the overall construction activities during building a Residential apartment. Project Highlights include 5 storied RCC framed structure with raft foundation, 50 residential units and having infrastructure facilities – Car park, walk way, substation building, boundary walls, independent sewerage and purified drinking water system.
Had my overall responsibility of collaborating with Architects, Engineers, Subcontractors, Owners, Consultants, and Municipalities. Oversaw the overall construction of residential building. Supervised direct workforce, project timelines, budgets and quality control. Procured and tracked materials. Proactively interfaced with MEP subcontractors, to avoid design and constructability problems in the project. Facilitated punch list completion and ensured accuracy and on time delivery to the flat owners. Also, maintained site safety and security procedures.

Key achievements during this period included:
I did budget analysis and cost analysis of all the projects given to me and scheduled all tasks and activities without foregoing quality to keep the budget and cost under control which was well appreciated by the management.

Site Supervisor
Site supervisor responsible for general civil and RCC piling works. Managed the projects effectively inside CPCL (Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited) with the minimum work force. Organized and supervised all the field activities, Experienced in construction of bearing piles by both methods – liner and direct mud circulation, supervised steel cages preparation, pile depths, betonite slurry ponds and concreting.
Also supervised the 2.25 Km fire water line expansion project to facilitate the proposed LPG filling station. Job functions include; concrete sleepers, pipe anchors, thrust blocks and trenches for underground piping
Liaised with all departments to receive the work permits, Supervised the plans and schedules of the workers, provided them help and support in completing their work and targets, Conducted quality control inspections of ongoing and completed work Inspected complete phases of construction, such as concrete placement, forming, and steel placement. Also maintained measurement book and workers attendance records.
