Technical Works Supervisor

• The care and maintenance of all British Embassy/ Deputy High Commission properties, which consist of Residence – DHM Residence – The Main Office – Amenity Building –Swimming Pools and units of residential accommodation

• The line management of artisans of different disciplines.

• Obtain estimates and supervision of contractors on large and small projects within the Embassy/ Deputy High Commission estate.

• Security administration and supervision of work carried out by locally engaged maintenance staff and local contractors.

• Work with Security Manager on security matters and carry out security works per Security report

• Assist Security Manager with duties as and when needed

• Liaison on all these matters with the British Embassy/Deputy High Commission Corporate Services Section.

• Responding appropriately to Staff emergencies or urgent issues as they arise.

• Coordinating and leading a team or teams of staff to cover various areas.

• Responsible for the management of services and processes.

• Responsible for building maintenance repairs and services.

• Managing, scheduling and coordinating assigned real estate services.

• Comparing costs for required goods / services to achieve maximum value.

• Planning best allocation and utilization of space & resources for new buildings.

• Checking that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily.

• Carry out Fire risk assessment of properties and put together speciation of what is required for the properties. Carry out tender process. Project management of fire alarm system installation. Plan and develop appropriate policy, systems & actions of Fire safety management and provide technical advice. Monitor and review incidents, develop reports and reporting measures Monitor the implementation of recommendations and follow up as appropriate.

• Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented. Carry out risk assessments and make changes to working practices as and when needed. Ensure safe installation of equipment and manage and organize the safe disposal of hazardous substances Carry out staff and contractor Health and Safety training. Keep up to date records of training, inspections and accidents
