ASSET MANAGER – Supreme Fuels Group – Afghanistan
• Providing timely and efficient asset and inventory management of all technical and NATO fixed assets. Including skid mounted fuel pumping machinery and bladders, Filter Water Separators, project assets, vehicle fleet management and maintenance tools, located at all fuel storage sites throughout Afghanistan.
• Liaising with Finance and Admin staff to maintain asset registers, reflecting actual holdings and showing acquisition costs in the region of $65 million.
• Conducting fuel storage site visits in Afghanistan to provide local training to managers in asset practices and documentation, in accordance with Inter-Business Unit SLA’s.
• Selected to project manage and investigate slow moving and obsolete stock, with the objective to reduce a growing value of $5 million throughout Afghanistan, incl. historic stock such as vehicle parts, ancillary re-fuel equipment and vehicles themselves, acknowledged for re-sale or re-distribution elsewhere in theatre.
• Working with the Loss Reduction Department, to date $598K worth of stock has been identified for processing and action. Liaising with Finance and Legal Departments for clarification on potential re-sales and local tax issues.
• Sending weekly reports to Senior Managers at Head Office in Dubai, whilst creating plans to provide solutions and at the same time strategizing with Warehouse & Maintenance staff on the ground to assist in the process.
• Assisting Finance Department in writing-off assets. Checking current net book values against that of the depreciation, thus ensuring the correct figure.
• Able to support head office management on a broad portfolio of logistics and warehousing functions on their behalf, whilst in Afghanistan.
• Liaising with Logistics in planning and coordinating in-country assets and parts and re-distributing where needed, adjusting inventory holdings and cost centres to suit.
• Extracting Purchase Order information to adjust asset register holdings.
• Assets meeting the capitalization threshold are appropriately tagged with an identifiable asset number, thus enabling department managers to adequately safeguard all relevant company assets.
• Flexible, excellent team player with good interpersonal skills and able to introduce and develop original and innovative solutions. Ability and willingness to work outside of business hours to achieve the company objective.
LOGISTICS MANAGER – Royal Air Force – Worldwide
• Co-Headed F3/GR4 Tornado fighter aircraft spares with a value of $35 million, and overseeing the daily updating of a WMS of around 8000 line items which was used for controlling stock levels, customer orders, stocktaking and accountability.
• Logistics Manager for UK contingent of large multinational NATO exercise in Europe.
• Using UNIPART WMS to order Landrover parts. Whilst ensuring parts orders for Fire trucks, Landrovers and other emergency vehicles were prioritized and actioned accordingly.
• Hastening of Purchase Orders at timely intervals and helping to facilitate onward movement to air transport to meet pipeline times.
• Managed all aspects of a busy Warehouse, with staff of up to 10. Selected items for issuance and collated information on manifests, for delivery by air or sea. Carried out full re-organisation of all stock within the warehouse, initiated regular stock and inventory checks.
• Devised and implemented plan to return redundant aircraft spares and calibration equipment, with a value of $3 million, back through the supply chain to international companies by sea and air from Cyprus, for re-sale and scrap value.
• Liaising with Procurement Dept. in continually assessing parts supply and demand to meet the needs of the customer within specified deadlines and taking into account lead times.
• Effectively communicating with the Warehouse departments to ensure inventory levels were maintained in order to meet customer demands whilst maintaining the necessary flexibility to quickly adapt to changing priorities.
• Ordering of Mission Critical aircraft and vehicle spares and liaising with UK military and civilian depots and Air Cargo outlets to ensure prompt delivery. Conducted daily briefings with Aircraft engineers and Directors, where over Purchase Order originators were advised on order progress and advised of delivery times by air or otherwise. Briefing senior management when necessary.
• Conducted expendable and rotables consumption rate planning. Organised MHE and manning to deliver priority spares. Quarantined parts that could affect flight safety and raised relevant reports for investigation.
• Management of aircraft spares via engineering bays and civilian maintenance contracts.
• A military qualified fuel farm operator. Co-Managed a small workforce with an annual turnover of 12 million litres of aviation and 5 grades of ground fuel.
• Point of contact for Waste Management issues and arranging contractor waste uplifts across 9 military sites in Northern Ireland.
QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR – Nissan Motor Manufacturing UK – Sunderland
• Using Kaizen principals, utilised as part of a busy and dynamic Quality Inspecting Team involved in all aspects of vehicle inspection from trim build to under body inspection.
• Able to make consistent, decisive and rational quality judgements. At ease discussing and resolving concerns with Engineering, Design and Production department Team Leaders.
• Involved at start of shift discussions for my relevant station and able to take a logical approach into each problem area, be it wrong supplier part or ill working machinery. Used 5S system and built on the working relationship with the production staff and team leaders whilst striving to meet daily vehicle targets.
ENGINEERING STORES BUYER – Premier Foods – Stokesley
• Liaising with the engineers on required high priority parts for machinery. Sourcing through preferred supplier or a local company. Obtaining quotes and submitting for approval.
• Ensuring prompt delivery and seeking alternative items if required and if compatible.
• Negotiating prices and building a rapport with sales people and company representatives.
• Confirming payment is issued to vendor to clear Purchase Order.
