Work Experience:
REGISTERED NURSE – SAN FERNANDO GENERAL HOSPITAL
31st August 2011 to present
As a first year newly registered nurse I worked on a medical ward attending to adult patients with various medical problems. In November of 2012 our hospital embarked upon a trial project to assist the overflow of medical adult patients being admitted. I was selected to assist in the running of unit, after three months, the project and I continued to develop new strategies to alleviate the problem in the management of patients until a bed was made available. As of today I am running the unit with assistance from the Patient Care Coordinator (Junior Matron). I was asked to be a volunteer nurse for a labor day parade for a Union. I am also a prospective BSc in Nursing Student at the University of the West Indies for the September term of 2013.
SUPPORT WORKER – INDIVIDUAL CARE SERVICES, BIRMINGHAM UK
September 2004 to January 2007
My duration as a support worker was a most influential one. That is why I became a nurse. I worked with adults with learning disabilities. I assisted them with daily and independent living. I also taught them how to budget, cook and arrange social activities with their peers. Most of my clients had epilepsy as well as some form of emotional problems. Working with them allowed me to truly empathize with their unique situations.
