I was previously employed as a Research Assistant for the Institute of Global Affairs and was tasked with interviewing Somali migrants investigating their role in building frameworks of social, political and financial resilience in a post-conflict urban environment. Prior to this , I volunteered at the Golden Opportunity and Development Charity assisting in running a free advice clinic. I also interned at the Permanent Mission of Somalia to the United Nations in New York as a Policy Adviser.
