 Special Project under SGSY for Skill Development Training for Rural Unemployed Youth belonging to BPL Families (Skill Development Program )

Duration : 2012- 2014

Description : The project aim is organizing the need analysis of industries regarding skill requirement and facilitates to the BPL youth for training trades after it organizes the training and provide placement in industries. The target groups are workers, less educated/ out of school youth/ unemployed, ITI graduates.

ACM GIDF is a social initiative of Indian Institute of Planning & Management (IIPM). ACM GIDF is a developmental organization of national repute, facilitating community development initiatives since 2002. Our strategy is to empower the vulnerable sections of the society by building their capacities through education, health and skill–based development. Our work is governed by issues related to Health, Education, Livelihood and Environment. The Foundation has undertaken a multi-faceted approach through its social initiatives. These approaches have been primarily focusing on community development. The states of Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Orissa, Kerala, Uttaranchal and Karnataka are being covered by our initiatives. Jul’06 – May’10 : Madhya Pradesh Rural Livelihoods Project, Shahdol, Madhya Prades, India.

The Project in its first phase starting from June 30, 2004 was implemented in eight predominantly tribal districts of Dhar, Jhabua and Barwani in the west and Mandla, Dindori, Anuppur, Shahdol in the east and Sheopur district in the north of the State. The second phase has begun from July 1, 2007 and will conclude in 2012, the second phase now covers nine districts. In the first phase, the Project covered 822 remote villages in these districts. Density of scheduled castes and tribes and low female literacy rate were the two selection criteria. About 50 thousand households received benefits. Select villages were grouped into clusters. Each cluster had a set of about 15 -20 villages. A total of 87 clusters managed 822 villages. The second phase extends coverage to about 3000 villages in the same districts including 822 villages of the first phase.¬¬¬

 Project works on Livelihood generation through the Village Assembly.

Duration : 2005- 2012

Description : The Project aimed at directing the money to the Village Fund, which is operated, managed and utilized by the Gram Sabha or village assembly. The Project facilitates Gram Sabhas to ensure the money well-spent for creating sustainable livelihoods. Empowered Gram Sabhas can effectively address livelihoods issues.

 Administration or Management of all skill development centers.

 Monitoring of all centers, Preparation of all progress related reports.

 Organizes the need assessment survey of industries. It helps to select the vocational training trades for running training centers.

 Liaising and networking with government, non government organization, PRI members etc.

 Coordination between center and Head office requirements.

 Maintaining of MIS, coordinate with head office, specialist and other departments.

 Preparing documents, quarterly report, action plan, time line for staff etc.
