Emirates Airline - Training Specialist Feb 2007 - Current
As an SEP Training Specialist I am responsible for the design and implementation of safety training programmes for cabin crew, flight deck crew and third party entities ensuring Service Delivery and Corporate objectives are met; I have also been accountable for quality assurance of SEP training programmes ensuring all GCAA regulatory standards and updates are incorporated into the relevant programmes to ensure accuracy and currency of course content.
I have been implementing the SMS part within aircrew training, educating and promoting crew technical and softs skills. I conduct Training Needs Analysis based on compilation of reports coming from operations (Sentinel, SID, KIS reports, ASRs) compounded with observations from the training environment. I document all of the above, explore trends and I analyse the risk involved suggesting solutions in forms of recommendations or change of policies. I monitor the implementation by auditing; recommend corrective action and continuously monitoring performance considering the obligations of GCAA and company safety requirement and policy. I consider SMS recommendation and policies when designing training syllabus to ensure best practices and compliance. During design and implementation of training courses I liaise with all the interfacing departments and stakeholders (Group Safety, Flight Ops, Human Factors, ERP, CCMs, HR)
I design and train leadership training courses for inflight supervisors (SFS, Purs), FD upgrade, cadets and initial pilots to ensure that they are aware of their safety responsibility to continuously promote and educate safety and safety practices.
I researched designed and produced HF training modules for cabin and flight deck crew, highlighting and promoting the safety culture of the individual and the company.
I participated in the production of Computer Based Training (CBT) in regards to Basic Aeronautics, Fire Fighting and Dangerous Good, now available in MLZ.
I receive, investigate and reply to aircrew queries in regards to ASRs, KIS and SID reports.
It is my responsibility to provide leadership and direction to a team of Training Officers and Part Time Trainers through evaluation, coaching and continuous assessment, identifying individual development needs, enhancing delivery skills and ensuring development plans are progressed in order to optimize the trainers’ productivity in alignment with company and regulators requirements. Within this role I conduct biannual reviews along with regular evaluations in alignment with Service Delivery management objectives and Corporate Performance Management standards.
As a lead trainer I have been delivering a range of safety training courses (General Safety, Aircraft Type Rating, SEP Recurrent, CRM, Conversion and Cross Qualification Courses, Initial Pilots, Cadets, Third Party) to a multicultural audience so as to meet all necessary regulations and standards, ensuring alignment with Service Delivery and Corporate objectives.
