I also was contracted to provide well site supervision as a representative for an oil company(Bonavista) in Canada during rig moves ensuring safe work practices were being followed.
2013
January 2013
During the month of January I was hired on a temporary contract basis to provide crane supervision for a rig move in the Kingdom of Jordan. This was on a British Petroleum site with all safety protocols established and in place. The rig move was accomplished in 15 days with a pre-move estimate of 35 days allotted to move the rig. A variety of cranes were used on this project, up to and including 200 ton Liebherr cranes using local operators.
For the remainder of 2013 I worked in Canada as a rig move/heavy lift supervisor on a winter project and on an as needed basis for various rig moving and heavy haul companies for the remainder of the year.
2012
In 2012 I supervised rig moves on a SAGD coring project in Canada. I also supplied my services to oil companies(Chevron,Taqa North) as a rig move coordinator/safety liaison officer. This position entails not only providing supervision during all phases of a rig move but ensuring that due diligence is accomplished as a representative of the oil company before and after any work is performed by contractors. This includes JSAs, hazard assessments, road use agreements, road maintenance, environmental concerns, contractor orientation as well as pre and post move critiques.
2003-2011
During this time I was a rig move supervisor on a number of multi-well projects within northern British Columbia, Alberta, and the North West Territories. These were for oil companies with a high commitment to safety (Exxon Mobil, Husky, Encana, Burlington,Cenovus,Devon Energy).
2002
During 2002 I was contracted to a rig moving company based in Yemen. I worked a 6 week on/off rotation supervising rig moves on sites operated by Hunt Oil.
1997-1999
During this time I was employed by a Canadian drilling contractor (Roll’n Drilling) as a bed truck driver in Sudan. I worked a 4 week on/off rotation and was part of a team moving Roll’n drilling rigs, a workover rig, and water well rig. We were also tasked with moving a Chinese owned drilling rig as our techniques were safer and resulted in shorter downtime before resuming drilling.
