I completed my 4 year apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering with Walter Energy at Aberpergwm Colliery. During this apprenticeship I attended Gower College Swansea gaining academic qualifications BTEC level 3 diploma in electrical/electronic engineering (QCF). Vocational qualifications gained include MPQC Level 3 Diploma in Mining Electrical Operations and NVQ Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations and Engineering Practices. I have also completed the first year of HNC in electrical engineering.

Underground Electrician
As an electrician in a mine it is vital to be professional and alert at all time. Due to the hazardous environment you are working in all work carried out must be done safely and to a high standard taking into account specific details that if ignored could cause explosions and serious accidents.
On a day to day basis I was:
