Projects:
CSCC (Cisco Service Contract Center) has multiple applications under it.
Quote & Order, Contract Management and Opportunity Management. These applications are built using mainly Oracle apps and Java. These applications are very critical to the client since their customers use them to purchase their services. The challenge was working along with other vendors in closing out defects, identifying risks and coming up with estimates. I was responsible for mentoring, monitoring and managing a total of 11 people both offshore and onsite. All these projects have quarterly releases, so I’m responsible for connecting with the client SME’s and Business Analysts to understand and analyze the new requirements, come up with estimates, identify and allocate resources, monitor their progress, send out status reports to the senior management and the client management.
Client: Intertek
1. Performed System Analysis for two projects at the client location. Underwent training for the apps, was involved in discussions with all the SME’s to understand their future requirements, inline processes, risk mitigation plans, migration schedules, testing plans, server configurations, defects/change requests capturing tools.
2. Documented all my findings in various analysis and design documents.
3. Setting up a team and training them on the two projects.
4. Working with the client and the team synchronously in understanding the change requests/defects and fixing them.
5. Mentoring the team and enabling them to take up new change requests independently.
Projects:
SAM: This is Intertek’s Inspection application that they use to track all orders that have been nominated for inspection. It was originally built only for Oil & Commodities inspections. We had to extend it to include Agricultural goods as well. We used one of Intertek’s in-house change request tools to capture and fix defects and track new change requests.
MTC2.0: My Test Central is a group of applications that are used by Intertek’s engineers and their customers to create and track projects. MTC2.0 would make web service calls to fetch data from one of their customer’s database and we were responsible to keep the web service updated. One of the other tasks was to integrate MTC2.0 with their invoicing system called Phoenix. Defects and new Change requests would be captured using the same in-house tool as SAM.
