Skills Provision is searching for a Mechanical Engineer to work for a medical device manufacturing company in Germany.

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design of various robot components. The active and passive electromechanical arms offer various degrees of freedom, lifts, sensors, fixators, and probes.

The Role

  • Create and/or modify the design of surgical robot components including manipulator arms, coordinate digitisers, lifts, position sensors, fixators, and probes.
  • Perform risk analysis to identify hazards and mitigation methods.
  • Carry out functionality tests as per applicable standards.
  • Review current technology and apply principles to company products
  • Track or understand existing technologies and translate them into products that will improve the effectiveness, safety, manufacturability, and usability of all robots.
  • Work with the Manufacturing Dept to coordinate design transfer and release of new products.
  • Work with outside agencies.
  • Manage, design and develop projects according to company policy.
  • Execute work in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Interface with other functional departments including quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and manufacturing, to ensure effective collaboration and teamwork.

 

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering with 5+ years of experience in medical devices as an engineer.
  • Knowledge and experience in robotics is required.
  • Strong knowledge in statics, dynamics, and material science.
  • Proven ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Proficiency using relevant IT software suites.
  • Comfortable with all phases of the product life cycle including design, implementation, debugging, verification, qualification, design transfer and maintenance.
  • Experience with manufacturing and prototyping.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and time management skills.
  • Dedicated professional with a passion for robotics.
  • Fluent in German and English.
  • Ability to produce corporate-based reports.
