Our client is a leading automotive supplier of automotive safety systems, including core product areas such as braking, steering, suspension, driver-assisted systems and much more. They are located in Bahrain.

The Role

You will be part of a team responsible for critical steering components. This component defines the steering feel of the vehicle. The control engineer is required to help ensure that these high standards are maintained and to support the development of the next generation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the development, specification and implementation of the EPS control algorithms to deliver exceptional system-level performance. As the system is a complex electro-mechanical system, a detailed understanding of control theory and application will be backed up with a sound knowledge of electronics, mechanics and sensing and actuation technologies.

There may also be an opportunity to become involved in the development of higher-level vehicle control functions.

Requirements

• In-depth sector knowledge
• Knowledge of real-time embedded software and fixed-point implementations
• Knowledge of automatic code generation
• Practical knowledge of the fields of simulation, modelling of dynamic systems, controller design and discrete-time systems.
• Knowledge of vehicle chassis dynamics, electric drives or electro-mechanical systems
• 1 or better engineering degree with an emphasis either through a project, work experience or course modules on the control of dynamic systems.
• Either a higher degree in control engineering or equivalent experience in a range of control techniques and methods coupled with a pragmatic approach to real-world control engineering.
• Able to work flexibly in a multi-disciplinary team and on own initiative.
