Senior Geotechnical Engineer required in Australia

Skills Provision is currently recruiting for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer for a position in Australia. You will work on varied and interesting projects across the country, with a particular focus on new developments.

Location: Based in Perth (with travel across the country)

The Role

• To prepare geotechnical designs (from initial concepts through to detailed designs), particularly covering slope stability assessments, gravity and embedded retaining wall designs and the design of shallow and piled foundations.
• To actively support other engineers within the Maritime and Waterways sectors
• To interact with and actively support the Geotechnical Group.
• To liaise with external and internal clients.
• To provide assistance with the preparation of proposals.
• To prepare, supervise or check geotechnical assessments and desk studies.
• To prepare, supervise or check contract documents.
• To prepare, write, check or review reports.
• To generally check own work and the work of others in accordance with the Quality Management System.
• To provide technical coaching of staff and management of project-related work by junior engineers.
• To keep up to date with technical advances in the industry.

Requirements

• MSc in Geotechnical Engineering (or equivalent)
• CEng, MICE or approaching this level
• Experience in managing a team
• Good communicator (written and verbal)
• Hands-on geotechnical design experience
• Preparation and supervision of ground investigations
• Sound computer literacy skills
• Able to work collaboratively
