Working in Australia Only One in Three Jobs are Advertised

Posted on: 02.03.2011    13:33:09

We are often told by international candidates looking to work in Australia that they have problems identifying whether jobs are “real” or the product of “wishful” advertising by aspiring recruiters.

Our colleagues in Australia tell us that only a third of jobs are ever advertised and this supports candidates difficulties.

Whilst the demand from Australia is huge with 140,000 candidates wanted to fill construction roles alone we asked our colleagues, the people who actually hold the job offers available, to nominate their top 10 skills shortages at present and here is the list

  • International Chefs
  • Bakers
  • Butchers
  • Dentists
  • Dental Technicians
  • Diesel Fitters
  • Motor Mechanics
  • Air Conditioning Technicians
  • Carpenters
  • Electricians

Sure there is a paper chase to be followed but for anyone holding certified professional and trade skills working in Australia represents unique opportunities and we would be happy to assist
